LIAR is a fictional story about a bad relationship. It’s your classic serial relationship abuser in which they fall in “love” hard and fast only for it to be extremely toxic. This is of course documented in full on their Instagram stories, with inspirational self-love posts to follow. No lesson is ever learnt and the cycle repeats.

This narrative is so far from my own life but I thought it was interesting to write as the outside observer. Although harsh and cynical, it's heart breaking to watch.

Musically I started with your classic UK Garage drum groove but added 808s to give it a darker grungy feel. I wanted that section to hit hard so I added a moody guitar part as juxtaposition to the beat switch. The pop punk inspired vocals and lyrics almost wrote themselves due to the dark feel of the music, this was a happy accident that came together very quickly.
